About Core Process Psychotherapy

Core Process Psychotherapy is a mindfulness based approach that trusts in our natural capacity for wellbeing. Over time, life experiences and the ways we have learned to cope can cloud this innate state of wholeness.

Within a warm and supportive space, sharing your story and paying attention to what is happening in the body and mind can provide a gentle yet powerful way of exploring your experience. By bringing patient awareness to yourself in this way, you can begin to notice patterns and places where you feel stuck. This process can help you reconnect with your deeper self and the wisdom held within, allowing you to move through difficulties and bringing a greater sense of clarity, compassion and ease in daily life.

It is a journey that can open the door to more fulfilling ways of living and relating both to yourself and others.

"The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence" - Thich Nhat Hanh

My background in social work and psychological wellbeing has allowed me to support people through various challenges for over 15 years. Having found mindfulness and psychotherapy so valuable in my own life, training in Core Process Psychotherapy felt like a natural step in my journey. This evolving experience continues to shape and inspire the way I offer my presence and care to others. I am passionate about working with people at depth as they uncover who they truly are and I believe we all have the capacity to experience more freedom from suffering, whatever that means for each of us.

The natural world is where I feel most at home. I have lived in North Devon for many years, finding peace and perspective walking its beautiful and untamed landscapes. Time in nature reminds me of the importance of slowing down, attuning to the moment and simply being - qualities I bring to my work with clients. My intention is to offer a safe, grounded, respectful and compassionate space where you can explore your inner world in a way that feels supportive and meaningful to you. A Relational Journey

In Core Process Psychotherapy, the therapist is a companion rather than an expert who has all the answers. Together we create a safe space where you will be deeply seen and heard, and where your own wisdom can unfold naturally. This is not about being treated as a problem to be fixed or being told what to do, but about nurturing your capacity to listen more deeply to yourself while receiving the support you need to take the steps that feel right for you.

The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place of healing - perhaps the first relationship where you can be completely yourself without performance or pretence.

I am in the later stages of UKCP-accredited training in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. This depth-relational approach weaves together Buddhist philosophy and practice with contemporary psychotherapeutic understanding, offering a spacious, integrative, and holistic way of working with people.

All practicing Core Process Psychotherapists engage in ongoing contemplative meditation practice, which supports presence, compassion and embodied awareness in working with clients.
